Private use
Terms of use
Last updated October 6, 2026
Emma is personal software maintained for its individual owner. The information pages at emmasec.com explain that private use; they do not offer a public service, app subscription, public distribution or access to another person's information.
Authorized use
Use Emma only with devices, accounts and data you own or are authorized to access. Connect Google through the intended app and review the requested permissions. Do not use Emma to bypass another service's access controls. Google and other services remain subject to their own terms.
Owner control
The owner chooses sources, reminder settings and confirmed calendar actions. Review suggested follow-ups and proposed changes before relying on them. Stop or revoke access when it is no longer wanted. Keep device access, signing credentials and recovery secrets secure, and maintain a tested backup.
Development and availability
Emma is under active development. Features may be incomplete, unavailable or changed. A packaged app or passing development test is not a guarantee that a feature works on a particular device or account. Signing, account permission, device settings, connectivity and power state can affect operation.
Reminders and follow-up suggestions may be delayed, incomplete or incorrect. Emma is not an emergency service or a substitute for independent medical, legal, financial or other critical reminders. Do not make it the sole record of an important obligation.
Privacy and data loss
The privacy policy explains data access, storage, retention and control. Encryption reduces certain risks but does not eliminate them. Losing a decryption key, clearing phone storage, uninstalling the app or losing a device can make data permanently unavailable. Undelivered phone answers are not a backup.
Changes and ending use
Material changes to Google-data uses require updated disclosures and consent before those uses begin. The owner may stop using Emma, revoke connected accounts and remove local data and backups. Removing access alone does not remove previously saved copies. Applicable legal rights are not excluded by these terms.
